HIPAA Compliance

HIPAA was enacted by the federal government in 1996 to assure health insurance portability, reduce healthcare fraud and abuse, guarantee security and privacy of health information and enforce standards for health information.  The “Administrative Simplification” aspect of that law requires the United States Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to develop standards for maintenance and transmission of health information that identifies individual patients.

While the “standards” for compliance are loosely defined, almost every health care provider has detailed their own specific goals for HIPAA compliance.

How we can help:

While we cannot make any health care provider compliant (there is no such thing as a HIPAA compliant product), Select Office Solutions can work with you to achieve compliance according to your company’s own plans and interpretations.  Let the professional team at Select provide the technical expertise and the document management solutions necessary to help you meet your HIPAA compliance goals.
